I woke at 6 a.m. to hear the pellets of icy snow hitting my windows. Now it's fluffy snow. The forecast is for 3 to 5 inches of snow in the Greenville area, mixed with sleet and ending with the Dreaded Freezing Rain. South of us there is likely to be more freezing rain, which of course is much worse for the power lines. With temperatures expected to rise above freezing tomorrow, I'm hopeful that the icy stuff will melt before Monday. I'm staying put as long as there is ice out there. Today's plans: clean the house, bake some bread, watch some movies and basically relax as much as possible. Sounds pretty good to me.
Update: not as much snow falling now. I need to get out and take pictures of my first snow in my new house. But to tide you over, Jeff at Backcountry Conservative has braved the elements and posted some shots of what it's like in his neck of the SC woods. And Mike says there's only rain in Charleston so far.
The most excitement around here so far is some idiot driving a truck in a parking lot across the street from my subdivision---driving very fast and swirling around in the snow. Oh no.... someone else has just driven in the same parking lot to do likewise. Have I mentioned lately that I live in Greer? :)
